Course Registration Procedures

1. Paying the Contribution Fee/Tuition Fee: Second-degree or distance (blended) education students, as well as first-degree students who have exceeded their normal program duration, must pay their contribution fee/tuition fee starting from September 11, 2025, to be able to register for courses. First-degree students within their normal program duration do not need to pay a contribution fee/tuition fee (excluding students accepted from abroad). Students can view the amount of the contribution fee/tuition fee they need to pay in the Student Information System under the Course Registration Menu.

Contribution Fee/Tuition Fee Payments: Payments can be made from September 11, 2025, until the last day of course registrations specified in the academic calendar (inclusive). This can be done via ALL BANKS' CREDIT CARDS and DEBIT CARDS (VIRTUAL POS) at https://odeme.sakarya.edu.tr/, as well as at AKBANK's branch tellers and via Akbank Internet Banking using your TR IDENTITY NUMBER. Since students may have an associate, undergraduate, or graduate studentship at our university, those in this situation will need to select the student number for the program they want to receive an education in after entering their TR ID number to pay the debt(s).

Click here for information on Fee Procedures and Payments.

Students who are enrolled in a higher education program and register for a second higher education program (excluding double major programs) must cover the student contribution fees for the SECOND HIGHER EDUCATION program themselves.

2. Step-by-Step Course Registration Procedure (1st-year students will also register for courses)

  • After logging in with your username and password at https://sabis.sakarya.edu.tr/tr/Login, select the Student Information System (OBIS) menu.

  • From the left menu, select Course Registration.

  • On the screen that opens, press the Add button for the courses you see and want to select.

  • The courses you have selected will appear at the top of the page. After finalizing your courses, press the Send for Advisor Approval button to submit the courses for approval (For students for whom an advisor has not been assigned, advisor approval is not required during registration).

  • After pressing the Send for Advisor Approval button, the system will open the Selected Courses menu. If you think there is a problem with your courses here, you can make changes until the advisor approves them. No changes can be made after advisor approval.

  • Students who have transferred to our university for the Spring semester and whose course equivalencies (courses they have had counted) are not yet visible in the system will be able to register for courses during the excused registration week (by applying to the relevant student affairs between September 22-26, 2025).

Notes on Course Registration for Associate and Undergraduate Students

  • Students must register for their compulsory and elective courses on the specified dates.

  • Registrations for University Common Elective Courses will be made within the announced QUOTAS.

  • If a QUOTA has been determined for Department Elective and Faculty Elective Courses, students will register within the quota. Registration will be accepted until the quota is full, starting with the first student to register.

  • When a quota is later placed on Department Elective and Faculty Elective Courses that were registered for without a quota, students will be ranked by their General Grade Point Average (GGPA), and the registration of students outside the quota will be canceled. An alternative course from the open courses can be registered for on September 19-20-21, 2025.

  • During the course selection process, a student registers for a course by pressing the Add button next to it.

  • Selected courses will appear at the top of the page. When you complete your course registration, you must send the selected courses for approval by pressing the Send for Advisor Approval button (except for those without an assigned advisor).

  • Your advisor will inform you via OBIS if a change is needed in your course selection. You must make the change suggested by the advisor and re-select your courses.

  • After your advisor approves your course selection, no changes can be made.

  • Students with a General Grade Point Average (GGPA) of 1.80 and above can register for 30 ECTS courses, including their current semester, along with 10 ECTS or 2 courses, provided they first register for failed and un-taken courses from previous semesters.

  • Students with a General Grade Point Average (GGPA) of 1.79 and below can register for 25 ECTS courses, including their current semester, provided they first register for failed and un-taken courses from previous semesters.

  • The criterion for taking courses from a higher class is to have a GGPA of 3.00 and above, provided all courses up to and including the end of the 2nd semester or the end of the 1st year in an annual program have been taken and passed.

  • Students who meet the criteria for taking courses from a higher class, as well as students in Double Major and Minor programs, can register for 30 ECTS courses along with 15 ECTS or 3 courses. These students can also take courses from the next higher class of their current semester.

  • Students are required to register for un-taken and failed courses from previous semesters first.

  • For practice-heavy courses where the practice hours are equal to or more than the theoretical hours, attendance will be required even if the course is being repeated due to failure. Students who fail this type of course will not be able to select the course if there is a time conflict.

  • Time conflicts are checked for courses taken for the first time or courses with a DZ (Did Not Attend) grade in associate and undergraduate programs. No time conflict check is performed for other courses.

  • No time conflict check is performed for courses from previous semesters where the attendance requirement has been met, and attendance is not required for these students.

  • In departments with dual-education, the system will warn the student in case of a time conflict. The student can choose to take the course with the conflict or from the other type of education if they have already met the attendance requirement for the conflicting course.

  • A student cannot take more elective courses than the number specified in the course plan. However, they can take one to improve a grade. In this case, the last grade and last course taken will be valid. Please pay attention to this rule when registering.

  • Students who need to take an additional elective course due to an ECTS shortage can apply to the head of their department to register for the course.

  • Students who are not able to register for an elective course because the quota is full can choose from elective courses that have not reached their quota between September 19-20-21, 2025.

  • Our announcements regarding excused course registration will be made later. Please check our website.
